I watched an episode of Cafe Racer where Billy Joel was interviewed. He left me with the distinct impression he preferred the smaller lighter cafe bikes and disliked the chrome and geometry of cruisers and choppers.
I wonder what got him to move on his opinion to work on classic replicas?
My guess would be more profit. They probably started making these bikes a few years ago when choppers bobbers and old motors were going for big $$ and the cafe racers weren't as popular as they are now.

They are nice, but if I had the money, I would quit work go to school to learn everything I could about motorcycle engines and body work, then I would do it myself. Big $$$$$ for something you cant say you did yourself. I thought doing it your self was what it is all about. Just cant see buying something like that. JMO
His early years were pretty heavy rock. And his life story is quite interesting. Not a huge fan...although I do respect the fact that he stays out of politics...or I just haven't heard his opinions (which is a good thing)

I agree

I agree...I'm a carpenter and home builder...not a motor/body mechanic...but I'd give a one off custom a try someday.
billy joel should stick to his cafe racers, he didn't seem to like anything but
In fact, if you could see his shop in Oyster Bay Long Island and hear him talk about ALL bikes, he seems to love every singly motorcycle ever made. Not only is he very knowledgeable, he just simply loves bikes, period!

he wasn't so kind on his interview on cafe racers, watch it and you be the judge.
