i currently have ness lowering dampners and am tired of having the tire skip while breaking in bumpy roads...2 weeks ago almost lost it on the highway when i hit a raised patch of tar
got my ears open for other suggestions...i can't lower my bike more than i have now cause already scrape frame and shocks on a speed bump i must take to enter/exit the neigborhood
Those dampers suck.I used CCE 2"tubes with Patriot 2" springs with Racetech gold valves.Rides pretty good with absolutely no skipping or handling issues. Ended up with 4 full inches of drop.
I have them on mine and can say the springs in them are soft. There is a lot of dive with them too. I am swtiching the springs to the progressives I had in the stock tubes. I would like it stiffer but not too much. I did put the heaver oil in the tubes and it does help some. The ride over bumps and in general is much better with the 2" under tubes. I do need to lower it about another 1/2 " so I may just cut the spacer in the dbi's and see how that works. They are a good quality part though.

Now I may try that in mine too, I like the springs but the gold valves may be the ticket for me

Reason: spelling
I'm running 2 inch under tubes with the stock damper and a progressive drop in lowering kit I had to cut the pvc down more though... I think I cut it to 3.5 or 3.25 sorry I can't remember. I'm also running extra heavy SE racing oil in the forks 9oz's in each... I never felt it skip while breaking or maybe I'm just used to it?
That's why the 23 Chuck he's wearing out those skinny little 40's.
I'm right at 210 BnC and the front end glides.I used 50/50 mix of SE Race oil and Heavy Duty. The valves are the **** if you adjust them right.I drilled 3 extra holes in the stock dampers before that and used heavy duty fluid, that worked ok but when you hit wash board type roads the rebound was not as it should be under hard cornering.Wouldn't skip but not the solid feel either.
thanks bros, or should i say grandps...lol...i'll keep my current setup and just gain 150 pounds...lol...if going cheap (only the tubes) ain't a good setup, i rather spend the $ to get it right once, cause i already made a bad decision with the ness dampners
