Hey Guys, Im wanting to get a new programmer for my 2010 FB Lo. With so many options out there how is one to know which will work best? Has anyone else out there put one on? If so what kind and do you like it?
You will get a few answers on that question. Will be someone to tell you the search is your friend. With the newer engines, it seems necessary to install some type of fuel management system. Thanks to the EPA, they all left the factory running lean and thus creating more heat than needed or wanted.
Which one is the best is like asking Chevy or Ford. They all have their fans, good points and bad points. The best advice I could offer is if you are going to have a shop do a dyno run than ask them what they prefer to work with. That way they are familiar with it and will give you better results. I spent about 3 months reading every thread I seen that listed anything about a fuel system tuner. There is several already here.
I'm using a TTS myself as there are no tuners near where I live, and the auto tune works for me. Good luck in your choice.
Just put a Power Commander V on my Lo a few weeks ago. Give Fuel Moto a call and tell them your mods. If you ever change anything they'll send you a new map aka "tune". I rode it the first time today and damn it feels good.
Don't ask us, we won't be tuning it. Either read up on them if your up to the challenge of tweaking it or talk to your mechanic and see what he is most comfortable with. No matter what you get, get it dyno'd and you won't be sorry. Whoever is doing the dyno needs to know your tuner. What they are good at is your best bet.
I also have a PC V on my 2010 Lo, It just worked out that power commander already had a tune for the slip ons I have and intake. I put it on and can really tell the difference. But as the first reply stated its to each his own.
I have the Thundermax with auto tune. I really like it can make changes when I do things to the bike and I am able to use the software to see how the bike is running. It replaces the factory computer and fits in the stock location.
