dont have work tomorrow ,so i want to put the new pipes on,can i do this with out the new breather and tuner.that stuff will be here on tuesday,im just impatient.thanks
That's what I've heard too, shouldn't be a problem.
KeeBee: Love the color, I just saw an electra glide at the local dealer in that color. Looks even better in person.
So does this mean I could just buy the pipes I want and bolt them on, then install the air cleaner and ECM tune at later date? Say for instance from stock Xbones to Vance & Hines 2 into 2?

As far as I know, you can do that. I ran slipons for the first few months and the dealer made it clear there was no problem until I changed the AC. Be nice to see a few more guys chime in on this though...
Are there any issues of any kind doing that, such as popping on decel or the ECM acting funny? I want the pipes you have is your sig. The 2 into 2 Big Radius Black.
Sounds to me the only reason for the tune and air cleaner would be increased performance, which of course is always a plus! But the real reason I want the pipes is the look and of course the sound.

On my lo is a stage1 with the S/E air breather.
I have put at least 5 different exhausts on my 01 Ultra, no tuner. I have never had any issues.
I am getting ready to put the 2 into 1 fatcats on my ultra in about a month. I am going to get a tuner for it, but not until a few months later. I want the tuner to get the optimum performance out of what I have, but can't afford both right now.
Yes, install the pipes. You will be fine. Actually, I bet you will be more than fine and have a huge grin on your face. the rule fo thumb is if you add a high flow filter then you need the tuner for sure, but just the pipes you will be fine. Fatcat nation is coming! I can feel it.
