so, the digital tach/analog speedo came in last night, plugged it in, filled the tank , no gas light issues. looks great!! ill post pics up later of tbe bike. had a question tho. the upper nut on the rear header flange keeps coming loose. i have to snug it down before every ride. its a pita, any ideas on this? btw, im running a samson true dual ( sounds awesome btw, love it!!) thks for the ideas. pics to follow with list of mods later.
that is strange as a softail has a rigid mounted engine meaning that it does not shake like the rubber mounted engines do. Are you sure youa veh tightened it down all the way? I think loctite is useless as the heat will negate its effect, but that is just what i think.

The stud could be streched either from age or being overtightened. If that's the case replacing the stud is the right fix but a quick fix is to use a crimp nut. That's my guess FWIW.
If you can't find any crimp nuts see if you can find a local aircraft mechanic who can get you a couple of nuts drilled for safety wire.
Alternatively you could try to find the drill guide to make your own.
The other option might be to find a couple of external tab lock washers.
Put one on under the nut, bend the tabs and it should keep the nut from coming loose on you.
