Congrats on getting home in one piece. Just whatever you do please, please keep it upright. Its a really nice piece of work.
Not sure if the mufflers are the same as my Customs inside. But if they are you may find that they get a bit, not a lot, louder with time. Especially when you take off. Mine sounds like its gotten much louder since I took it home. It also may be just that the longer I have ridden it I have become more comfortable with twisting the throttle harder than I did at first, and the higher power settings make it louder. Its still a bit too quiet at highway cruising speeds, but I can live with it for now.
Good idea taking the riders course, I plan on doing the same come spring time. Unlike you I have ridden "some" in the past 30+ years. But its only amounted to a couple of thousand miles total, not enough to call myself anything like really proficient. Hell I put more miles on this bike in the month I have had it than everything else I have been on in at least the last 3 or 4 years.
So come spring I'll be there with you to take the advanced course, not because I'm advanced, but it will allow me to take it with my own bike. That way I can get to know my bike better rather than one of those little Hondas they use for the beginners classes.
Thank you all, gentlemen! I sure wish it was spring around the corner instead of winter.
Same here, but I'd love to have a dollar for every time you'll be out in the garage the next few months, staring at your new ride with a silly look on your face.
