Default Air Filter

Bought a 2001 NT last week. Went to change the air filter and it is not stock. Must have upgraded when they did the rejet and hooker pipe upgrade. It looks like a SE air filter. Is it like a K &N, where you have to clean it, or just replace it?

If it the blue collars on it then you replace it, if it is the black collars on it with the redish color filter media , you clean it and reoil it and reuse it, hope that's what you were asking

It is round, with wire mesh, has black trim, has a harley emblem and says "for HD twin cam only". Can not say for sure about the red fiber.

Does it look like gauze or like paper? Yes if it is gause then use the kit but don't over oil it or it will drip on the motor
