I tried to do a search and I was unable to find exactly what I was looking for. I was thinking of replacing my S/E Air Filter with the K&N replacement, but on their website I got more confused. On some other posts it mentioned the HD-0800 if I remember correctly . I am looking for the part number. Will it make a difference over the S/E filter, or am I only spending money thinking that something will happen.
Thanks
Jeff
That is the correct part # for the K&N.. If your SE air filter is blue, I would get rid of it now. If it is black, I would not replace with the K&N until it was wore out.

I'm curious, what is the downfall to the blue one? I run the '04 setup from my deuce on my S/G now, and it was the tried and true cloth w/ red oil. It the blue one paper or something?
I was going to set my wife springer up w/ the blue one but now I am unsure!
The SE air filter kit used to come with a air filter that had whiteish grey paper pleats and both ends were blue. With the football cover off, the element looked fine. I took the 3 screws out that held the blue filter to the backing plate and held up to light and the paper element actually had holes and the blue part of the filter was seperating from the filter body. This blue filter has been replaced by a black one that looks like a K&N but is not a K&N.. MOCO gets $42 for there black one and a K&N is $50. Guess what I bought. No more MOCO junk. Hope this helps. It's not just me, many people have had the problem with the blue filter.
K&N HD-0800 ordered at Autozone $32.99 it is $50.00 plus shipping on K&N's website.
Thanks for the help, it will be here on Saturday, working a 24 so I will have to wait until sunday still $20.00 cheaper thanks to this website.
