That is my setup exactly as well. I would have asked him to put his money where his mouth was. You let him buy you a set of pipes to his liking and you will let him tune your T-max. No need to remove the auto tune module, just go into the software and uncheck the "closed loop mode" box and tell him to have at it. And IF and only IF he can get 20% more power out of it without losing economy or all around performance (popping and ease of start etc...) will you pay him for any of it.

You and I both know that he won't bite, but it should have shut him up. At least until the next guy comes in the shop.

Another vote for takin' your business elsewhere--too many other folks out there will appreciate your business. People will want to burn my house down for saying this, but unless you are racing or betting, I believe a dyno is a waste of money. There are too many good tuners that will give you close to the same results with consistency. I was not originally a fan of the 2-1 pipes, but I am starting to dig the look of yours. I have the same Vivid Black Heritage with SE slip ons and they just don't look quite as good.

If i didnt have duals thats what I would run. F**K Him, go somewhere else. Your better off anyways. As long as you like it, hell with what people think

Personally, I used to agree with him on one issue. The FatCat is not the best looking exhaust. However, lately, it has started to grow on me and I've contemplated adding it to my ride. lol. I guess tastes can change.

But, to say that the FatCat and the Thundermax are not for the performance minded is weak. What planet is he from? There are FEW, and I do mean few pipes that can compete with the FatCat for performance. Thundermax may not be the best tuner in the world, but it does a decent job. That cannot be denied. It is much better than the majority of the market. Could be he's aching for some business to sell his own products...but, he's going about it wrong. If you still want to do your business there, make it clear you are happy with your performance and don't wish to change it. That usually gets most people to shut it, and respect you. You know what you want, and that garners a lot of respect.

Default fatcat

Thing is they probably sell a product that they make more money off. my local always said Samson was crap. they want you to buy what they make the most on. or if they do not know how to use the product is junk to them. You will get more honest feedback here on the forum. I stopped using my local dealer about four years ago when the service department manager was yelling at me for looking at my own bike. telling me I am not a mechanic and should not be touching my bike. what an A hole

there's a number of shops that are realizing their time is about up for the dyno thing, auto tuning is here rev performance, thundermax and others are writing on the wall for this area of repair/building motorcycles, not all are going quietly, nor are all dealing with change well (I still don't do texting!) this will bring out some bad attitudes, just don't burn bridges and move on to somebody that can help with the newer technology, and wish the rest well
