Got the bct baffles it says to put them in a lease 3 inchs from the exit
just wanted to know where u guys put yours
on my v&h short shots staggered the bolt hole is only inch or so from the exit
if I use the same hole its only in there about a inch is this a big deal or not
I put them in with the holes that are there just to see and it sounds good
Do I need to put them in deeper.
Not sure of a Softail, but on another forum, seen them put into the short shots for a sportster using the stock baffle hole with good results. Not sure if that is optimal or not, but if it gives you the sound you want and they fit in their snug, I would say they are doing their job.
thats where I have mine, I was thinking of moving them up a little but just never got around to it. Everytime I have the pipes off I forget that part..They work ok there
Hey thanks I might move them in a little
its just a pita to get the covers off but I think they would be
better if they where in there about 5 or 6 inch ill let you know
when I do mine
When I first got mine I used the original bolt hole. They sounded good. Later I went back and installed them almost 7 1/2 inches up the pipe, man what a difference in sound, much deeper. I felt no difference (seat of the pants) in performance though. So it's your choice!! Just my
Put them in the pipes 6" from the end per BCT. They sound much better. When you have the pipes off and disassembled; measure carefully and drill a hole in the chrome pipe directly opposite the bolt hole for the baffle. You can't really see the hole because it should be on the side of the pipe facing the bike. If you do this you can R&R the baffles in a couple of minutes without removing the pipes. An excellent tip that was passed along to me on this forum, so I'm paying it forward.
well I took the old baffles and cut them in half.
welded new baffle to the old baffle( half it) stuck them in there used same bolt hole
new baffle is in there about 6 inch
man what a sound......much deeper....... its greeeeaaat!!!!
I'm liking this sound
thanks 4 your input on this
its worth it to move them in 6 or 7 inch
I dont know if the old half baffle helped or not but sounds damn good
