Nice if it can be installed as a direct replacement. I wouldn't want It in that pod thingy

 

Just got off the phone with J&P, they have to call the manufacture tomorrow and find out if the pod is optional or not. Yeah like the gauge but not if I have to use that pod.

 

Got an email back from J&P, said the Medallion is deeper than and OEM gauge, so it needs the pod.

Too bad, I really liked the look of that gauge.

Only works on 2011 bikes with the new CAN Bus system.

 

NEGATIVE!!! Read the fitment. I got one for my 2010 fatboy. All you do is plug in the new speedo to the data port of your bike, it automatically downloads the mileage, then you install. There is a different part number for the 2011s as you mentioned.
