I'm looking at some different gauges for my bike. I know, I know... a lot of you guys are going to say Dakota Digital, or the LED mods to the factory gauges. I just don't like digitals, nor the looks of them, and I just want something more than swapping out the light colors for LEDs. So I've been looking into the Medalliaon gauges, and I think I've narrowed it down to the Racing Black series.
Anyone have any input or experience with the Medallion gauges, before I drop some cash? They look to be pretty decent gauges, and a big plus is they come with an oil-temp gauge (and sender) in place of the worthless, factory air-temp gauge. I like that they also have the hidden digital indicator for the cruise. A couple other features they have (but not really interested in), is the up-shift light and gear indicator. I don't really need those, but oh well, they're included features anyway.
I've been looking at them too. A friend also showed me a pic of some klockwerks gauges that looked pretty sweet as well. I don't know if they still make them because I can't seem to find any info about them. Here's the pic he sent me of the klockwerks gauges. I'd like to hear some feedback on the medallions as well.
My buddy bought a set of Medallion Gauges and I installed them for him , they are nice and work well but not the quality of my Dakota Digitals , they don't screw in like the stock gauges , they have a rubber housing that pushes into to hole and you slide the gauges into it , I did not like this set up so the cut the rubber housing down to basically a rubber gasket , went to Lowes and bought some screws for the back of the gauges and installed them using the factory gauge brackets , they are very secure this way
I have the Medallions and like them a bunch. Especially at night. The only complaint is the LED screen is hard to read with old eyes and polarized sun glasses.
It was an easy plug and play. I did not modify the mounting system and they are fine after 10K miles so far.
