Anyone have this done? Been thinking of having my FLHT gauges done in the plain brushed aluminium with the white LED's. Was wondering about longevity, glare, readability ect...any & all comments please.
I was all set to go with Nu Image. Really liked the skulls on the brushed aluminum, but......I found a set of silver/ "white" factory gauges for my '06. The silver were my favorite. Now off they go to Marty in the morning !!
I just had mine done by Nu-Image over the winter and they're a vast improvement at 0MPH but at speed, I find them to be about the same as stock readability wise. I wish the company would have made the numbers a little bigger but for the price, I'm happy. BTW, Nu-Image will provide and install LED's on all six guages for about a hundred bucks, not bad when you're one-stop shopping

Hey macatac,
Are the numbers smaller than the stock faces? Did you have the LED's installed? If so, how do you like'em? I talked to Frank @ Nu-Image about the LED's and am leaning that way. Which faces did you go with?
Stomper06;
You send your gauges to them (Nu-Image) they reface & ship'em back to you.
I went with the Mechanical faces and find them to be a bit "busy", They're awesome standing still but the way the etching reflects light while riding keeps my head down a little too long, especially with the 2 inch guages. I find that I just look at the approximate position of the dial for information, which most people probably do anyway. The numbers are the same size as stock, I think because this is some kind of skin that goes over the original face so there's no real option there. With you liking the cleaner lines of the brushed face, you may not have the initial issues that I have.
I had Frank do my guages with the LED's as well and can tell you that his red LED's match the radio face exactly, well worth the money and much easier on my eyes than the stock orange. Light output is good, suprisingly good.
