Default An embarrassing question...

This involves gear, but I spend most of my time in here with you softail brothers. Anyway, here goes...

The military is trying to make it tough on riders in Europe. Now they say we have to wear kevlar (sporty bike style) or leather. I have the jacket covered, but the chaps are something I personally have never thought about getting. I am a jeans guy. Anyway...I don't want to spend a fortune on some things I'll never use in the states. Can someone tell me a brand that is inexpensive and yet won't fall apart in a short amount of time wearing them?

Can't believe I am even asking this...

Thanks!

Hey if they still drive over there at a hundred miles an hour everywhere they go then you need all the protection you can get. Go Euro and get you some leather pants with the armor.

I don't know about cheap, but I just bought the Harley 360 pants since I hate leather chaps or pants, and to be honest, I think I might actually like them. You can wear shorts under them, they are waterproof, and lots of vent. I needed them for the fall and spring. A lot of days leaving for work early or late in the season I take the bike so I don't have to scrape the frost off the truck.

If you're just looking for cheap, you might take a look at these folks.

And most of all, thanks for your service.

I'd just get a pair of cheapo Ebay chaps. Got some last fall for about $35 and they look like they'll hold up just fine.

I've been buying Draggin Jeans for years:

They have kevlar in them. Not as good protection as leather but better than just jeans. And made in the USA. Not inexpensive but you can still wear them when you get back.

Thanks for your service.

Also check out http://www.motorcyclegear.com/

All kinds of closeouts. You can also get kevlar lined jeans, but I cannot remember who makes them.
