I purchased a 2005 15th Anniversary Fat Boy that came with Screaming Eagle slip on exhaust. I like the sound but hate the "slip on" look. What type of pipes should I replace them with? Thanks for the help!
I also have the 05 Annv FLSTFI and went with the V&H Big Shot Staggered with the quiet baffels. I like the look and sound , they are lower and more rumble than the SEll slip ons and they clean up the look of the bike IMO.
I'm gonna put in my two cents and mention Rineharts. I have them and love them. These are the Softail Flush. Looks and sounds great. The V&H will make you happy too. Flip a coin.
BA
I do like the VH staggereds also though (good performers).. and the long shots (for a more nostalgic look)..
The Rinehart and VH 2 into 1's are also a good style to consider for great performance.
I just do not recommend the VH Bigshot shorts.. unless you can tune them better than I could.. which ain't sayin' much hehe
I installed the V&H BigShotStaggered on my 05 Deluxe and they have a sound that is out of this world. I do like fatbernies rienharts also and know they perform well. I get lots of complements on the V&H sound and looks. I used the stock baffel which is an open pipe, I bought the quite baffels but did not have the heart to install them. Thought I would keep them around and put them im if I get into trouble with the local LEOs.
My riding buddy has the same bike as you do and he put on the V&H BigShotStaggered also and they sound great with the SE 95 engine and cams.
Up to you of course and there are lots of other great pipes to choose from out there in aftermarket land. Good luck with your choice.
