Default 2011 Deluxe - advice for air cleaner please...

I have a 2011 Deluxe, and am going to buy the V&H Big Shots Staggered in black on the first of next month.

When I had my Sporty, I got the Screaming Eagle hi-flow air filter and download at my local dealer. I used my stock air cleaner cover.

I'd like to try something different, so I'm think of the Arlen Ness Stage I Big Sucker from my local indie to go with my new pipes. But, I don't want to use my stock air cleaner cover anymore.

Should I buy the Ness Big Sucker first off, and second, if I do buy it, where can I find a black plain rounded air cleaner cover for it? Also, if I install the pipes and cleaner myself, does Harley do the ECM download for Vance and Hines and Arlen Ness? Or should I stick with the Screaming Eagle filter and download?

Thanks for your help and opinions!

A little Googling later, and I'm thinking about this one:

what about doing the "football-ectomy"?? I think it looks awesome and is a whole lot cheaper than a new cover...

IMHO the Deluxe is the most classic and classy looking HD out there. I'm not sure you want to go to "modern" or radical for the air cover. The classic football cover actually seems to fit it just right.

As for the download when you do the pipes and air...I personally have no trust in the HD downloads. Everyone I know that tried them ended up getting a box under their seat eventually. Since you're running the V&H pipes, I'd recommend the V&H FuelPak to go with it. I've run it on all my bikes (including my Deluxe) along with the V&H pipes and never had any issues.

Rrambo - what is the football-ectomy? I'm interested.

jbg - I'll put a PCV on it after the warranty expires, because the guys at my dealership won't touch my bike with a box on it. So I'll get the download to last me two years, and put the PCV on after. Thanks for the advice.

Nickel, whenever you bring the bike to the dealership, just take out the box
