Default 97 Softail Project

Been working on this new to me 97 softail custom. I got it with buckhorn bars, bags, shield, Old dirty front wheel, big bulky old seat etc. Now I am down to this. Still waiting on the front brake line and Andrews cam. Took the bike down to the frame and drivetrain to clean her up and check everything out. Also those pipes came on it but they had crappy heat shields and the pipes themselves were in bad shape. BUT they sound perfect and the samson baffles in them are just right. So I high temp coated the ends and wrapped them.

Still have visions of a new rear wheel and then slam it to the ground but this will do for now.

And please ignore all the kiddie toys!!!

Looks good, nice job cleaning her up.

Can't go wrong with a '97.

Looks good, I've often wished I would have bought an evo.

I sold my twin cam for it. I just don't ride enough to justify a newer bike. Now I freed up some money to do some things like motor work that I always wanted. It has its signs of age but those are things I will fix as I go along.

Thanks guys. I got fortunate on the paint. It cleans up very nice. There are spots on the fender where the HUGE seat was but you can't really see it due to the color. I also touched up some spots on the motor with the textured black from HD (that stuff rocks) and used the S100 engine brightner. Helped a bunch.
