So, I just picked up my new tank that was ordered last June. Pulled it out of the box and realized the emblem is different. So, I did a search for 2008 Heritages and all I could find were tanks with the same emblem as what came on the new tank. Is my old tank a special order or something? Does anyone else have the same emblem as my old tank??
Don't think I'm gonna bother taking the tank back and having to wait another year for a new one. It's not that big of a deal to me.
Dumped it on a curve last May. There's a chip half the size of a dime on the front of the tank, not even a dent. Stealer told my ins co. that they couldn't paint the tank because they couldn't get the emblems and the tank had to be ordered as a whole from the Mo Co.
Here is a pic of the chip:

Yeah that's the same emblem as on my FXSTC. Maybe your bike was a one of a kind factory mixup? Either way the I think the original looks better.
Yup, just googled FXSTC Tank Pic and that's what I came up with. Don't know why it's on my Heritage. Could be a factory mix up, could be something the PO changed for an unknown reason.
I do like the older tank better but I'm not gonna bother with the hassle of trying to exchange it. This has been going on for almost a year and had to be transferred to a second dealer due to the first one going out of business.
Thanks guys.
