Default Newest Mod Pics

Well I just finished up with the bike and got her all cleaned up. I changed out the front wheel to a Landmark Fat 40 spoke wheel, Changed out the stock rotor to a HD floating rotor, changed out the football air cleaner for something a little more classic in my oppinion, put on my braided clutch cable, and put the HD lowering kit in the rear to drop her down and inch out back. I have to say that I notice a big differance from the stock solid wheel to the wire wheel. The wind doesnt grab the front end any more going down the freeway and that makes for a more comfortable ride. The floating rotor doesnt really help breaking in my oppinion or atleast that I notice, but it looks cool and from what I have read its very hard to warp them and they really reduce any kind of break squeal that may occure in the future. The lowering kit has really changed how i sit on, or should I say on the bike. Before I droped the rear and inch my Young guns seat pushed me a bit forward, but now that the rear is lower, i sit back on the seat a bit more and it has made the seating position alot more comfortable when I have my feet on the floor boards. All in all I am very happy with the wheel the lowering kit and and everything else and if I had the choice to do it all again, I would in a heart beat. Here are some pics, let me know what you guys think.

Chris

Very good work.

Lyndall brake pads might make it stop better, not that there's anything wrong with stock pads, but the Lyndalls have much less dust and won't cut deep grooves if you want to keep your rotors looking nicer, at least that is my finding.
When it's time to change out tires, Metzelers ride and way outperform the stock Dunlops hands down, especially on wet roads. I couldn't wait for my stockers to wear, I was getting caught in the rain too much, so I swapped them out after a few thousand miles.
Now it will ride a little stiffer now, but the lowering you did adds to the cool factor by 97%.

Again, good job!

The bike looks great. Where did you get your air cleaner cover? It also looks like it has some writing on it what does it say? I have been wanting to get rid of my football also.

Chris,
Your bike looks GREAT! I really like the front end. It makes your bike your own, plus I think it looks way better then stock. You should be proud as I think it is one of the best looking FB I have seen. I like the clean look. Very sharp but not over done IMO. Congrats!

Great looking bike Chris, I love it. Next to the Heritage the Fatboy is my favorite.

Hey thanks Chris,

I had seen that part in the catalog that is the direction I am leaning towards. I have the stage 1 and V&H staggards also. does it change the air flow too much? or can you just switch them out with no changes?

Personally I'm not a FB fan, but Chris ya done REAL good with yours. Just have to swap out the rear brake rotor to balance the look.
Like the air cleaner too, is it smaller then the football? I menan does it stick out the same or a little less. Switching to that would allow me to reach the brake pedal a little easier.
I'm an old short fart. I can reach it OK, but getting a little more room would make it a bit easier, and maybe faster in an emergency.
