I just found a set on Ebay for 500 for the bags. They need the lock kit and a mounting kit. Drew at Dr. Vtwin can get you the mounting kit. They are 299 on Cyclevision site but he can beat that price.

Trying to decide if I should go with black or chrome brackets.

I put the bags together from parts I bought off of eBay. I then purchased Harley bag extensions and had fiberglass applied to blend them in. I just got them back from a shop around the corner that does restorations. I bought the brackets from Cycle Visions. I went with the black since you can’t see much of the bracket. I also bought the filler panels from Cycle Visions but they neglect to tell you that you may have to scribe and cut to fit. I am not a body guy or fabricator so I will take it back to the shop this Winter. I may have some complete bags here soon for sale, around 700.00.

Oh, they also neglect to tell you that your seat may have to be replaces as the deluxe bag rest on the corners of the bags.

Looks great I did not extend mine stayed with stock. I will get filler panels later so I will have something to do next winter not sure what I will do to bended the 2 colors. As far as the seat hitting the corner I have a touring seat & what I did was place brackets on the outside of my Deattachable Hardware. This works well but you can not use filler panels gap is too much.Call Cycle Vision talked with Brad he said to place a 3/8 spacer on the front only U hanger and the filler panels will still work; I am going to try this weekend this should work with your stock mine is much wider Jury still out.

I'm wanting to do this to my heritage as well. Looks like the best bet is to eBay the bags, keep looking till you can piece them together, or get lucky enough to find someone unloading a complete set. The bag extensions look sick... But will I have any exhaust interference issues? I'm running V&H staggered duals.

I don't think you will have problems with the pipes. Currently I have V&Hs short shots. Plenty of clearance but, I don't want to run them too much because I don't want to take a chance and harming the paint on the bottom of the bags.
