Default tail light issue

Its rained alot here in Texas lately and I saw some condensation in the tail light lens. I took it off and dried it out,but when i tried to remove the buld it broke. The repair manual gives a Harley part number. But, I really dont want to drive 25 miles to buy theirs if one can be purchased at an auto parts store locally. I tried an 1157 , a GE P21, and a Sylvania 2357. None of these lock into place like the bulb that was in the light.

Anyone know of a bulb number that will match? Its for a "94 FLSTC Heritage Softail.

For a 2006 FB it's 1157. The 1157 should have two conducter leads on the bottom and two post on the shaft at different heights on the shaft. Simular to below.

Put some electrical grease on plug end so the next time you need to replace it , it will come out easier . 1157 should work , I have an auto bulb in mine for 5yrs so far.

Its called dielectric grease and you want to put some in because its completely water proof. So even if you filled the light up with water it will still work properly. It will also prevent any corrosion to the bulb contacts and the sockets connections.
