I have never seen one of these before. My first and lasting impression. A solid never for me.Just seems like you are trying to hard with one of these IMO.But to each his own.Full face would be a much better option.
Posing here too I guess? I wear a half bandana over my face when its cold (which is all the time this time of riding season in IL) but hey so did old western outlaws to cover from the elements and carrying out bank jobs and they were some of the toughest SOB's around! LOL
Anyone here sporting one of the metal face masks from solidstatecovers.com? They look cool enough, and certainly would offer some protection from hard bugs and rocks, but wonder how comfortable/practical they are....looks like they might catch a lot of wind and flop around.
I have the regular silver diamond plate one, it was a huge hit at sturgis, but truthfully its more of a pain in the *** than it is helpfull... It did take some gnarly bugs and rocks on the way back from sturgis that prolly woulda' left dents if I didn't have it on - so I guess it did it's job, but I spent more time reconfiguring the head harness/how it sat on my grill and de-fogging my glasses than I ever did with a poly mask/rag. The leather nose support and the chin piece that holds it away from your face quickly become "dig spots" in the heat, and the straps under and over the ears soon have you sliding them up and down to take the tension off. The top adjustment strap goes over the top of your head and has a small slide buckle that digs into your nugget if you wear it under a tight fitting half lid like I do. All in all, it was good for some killer looks from the hunnies in downtown Sturgis... a good conversation piece, and it will look good on my coffee table from now on...
I think I found a much less expensive version . . . . at least it looks like it would provide the same amount of "coverage" and would no doubt get the user a bit of attention!
