hey everyone..on my 08 night train i have a v&h 2-1 pro pipe, andrews 26h cam, SE air cleaner and i have a v&h fulpak for my controller...back when i did the cam i had the bike on the dyno just to see what she pulled and it was 80hp and just under 93 tq..my A/F ratio was rich in a few spots and they were pretty good sized dips...My question is this..if i were to get a power commander and have it dyno tuned...would it be worth the money as in the performance sense? thanks for any input
It is difficult to say how much more you will gain. A lot of it has to do with the map or if you get a Dyno and who tunes it. Remember, numbers are only that and there are numerous ways to get higher numbers off a Dyno.
I would say it would only be a half-step forward. Depends on how much money 2-5 hp on paper is worth to you.
If it were me, I would probably leave it alone and have fun until I decided to go with the next level tuner. Maybe a TTS or something with an auto tune.
SEPST is the way to go. With a competent tuner you will get the perfect tune for your bike and have no aftermarket tuner left tucked somewhere on your bike. Another plus is no worries about the tuner going bad and running like crap out in the boonies. Its all stored in your ECM so if that fails you'd be stuck regardless.
It is a bit pricey but it has many benefits over a pulse modulator type setup.

I've seen numbers fairly close to yours with no upgrade in cams. Without getting into the best tuner debate, I'd say you'd pick up a few hp/tq, better fuel mileage and a more rideable bike. (better throttle response)
You will need to find a good dyno operator.
