Exclamation 07 softail won't start after battery replacement

Any ideas? Customer's softail, says it won't start. He had replaced the battery and fob battery (has hands free security system). Engine cranks, has spark, haven't verified fuel pump operation yet, but what's blowing my mind is that the headlight or tail light or turn signals or horn won't work (all fuses ok), with ignition off and kill switch off, oil light and speedo blink twice and keeps repeating. With ign. off and kill switch on, engine light and speedo light come on 1 sec. go off, 5 sec. back on and keeps repeating. Will do this unless I pull the 40 amp fuse. Have verified good connections at battery, good voltage, have retrieved codes (has 4 or 5 all related to a light problem), have checked for current at headlight and tail, and have voltage at all wires -EVEN THE GROUND WIRE! Have pulled the battery, looked for any bare wires in that area, nothing! How can I have current to lighting ground wires?? Anybody have anything similar? Help please!!!

You stated the owner put the batt in right? I'd verify he didn't invert the pos. & neg. Wires

Does the FOB have to be reprogrammed once the battery is removed? Sounds like the security system.

Make sure he put the battery in the key Fob the right way, if that doesn't work try and put the security code in manually using the signal switches.

What was it doing before he put battery in? How are you checking it that you can tell there is voltage on you ground wire? If it truely is, then thats from feed back and there is a brunt out wire, fuse or relay in that line. I would not think it would crank if the security system is on. Do not crank it till you get light system straight. You are going burn the whole system up if it's not already gone.

Make sure your checking voltage by using the frame as a reference, not the battery. Sounds like there is a loose chassis ground.
