crossbones turn signals, help please before I go insane
Hi, ive just swapped out my rear fender on the crossbones and fitted a pair of aftermarket bulb turn signals. I checked the connections a million times and its all good but I cant get the left hand signal to work properly. Everything else electrical is fine but sometimes the turn signal works, sometimes not, sometimes there is a little whine from the ECM (I think) when I try and it fails, sometimes there is a very weak signal. I think it is an watt or voltage issue. I have an international model - does this make a difference with US made lighting?
Help please, I can guarantee its not a loose connection.
Only difference international and US model as far as lighting is concerned is that the rear light runs of the Aux (orange and white) wire instead of the blue one, and that the Aux wire also supplies the parking light in front which the US models don't have. Shouldn't make any difference for the indicators.
I would locate the turn signal module. the buzzing could come from there.
Also have you checked the pins inside the connector to make sure they are completely clipped in place? I had the rear light "flicker" and it was the little connector not held in place by the plastic clip. When plugged in it was shoved a hair backwards, just enough to give an occasionally bad connection. (was where the rear harness plugs into the main harness under the seat)
