Default Apes on 2011 Softail.

Some people have told me that I should not put apes on my 2011 because of the new electrical system, something about extending the wires could mess up the signals to the computer from the switches. So since I can't see myself owning a bike without apes I consulted the dealer where I bought the bike. The head mechanic informed me that it is not a good idea to cut and splice wires with the new computer system because a poor solder joint could damage the computer. He said that it would be fine to use a wiring extension with plugs on both ends. He said they have installed 2 sets of 16" apes and a set of 18's on 2011 bikes and have not had any issues. So I thought I would share this info with anyone looking to install apes on their 2011 softail.
