Problem starting Heritage
Not sure if this is the correct place to post, so please redirect me if it is not.
I currently have an 08 Heritage with dealer installed security.
She is not turning over. Feels like it is electrical but not sure how to diagnose it.
Battery is good (new), lights works, security lights trigger turn signals correctly, headlight on, fuel injection sounds like in fires, but when i hit the start button, i get nothing. No cranking, no nothing.
Any ideas before it goes to a dealer to be worked on?
Thanks,

Use the search option and you might find something to help. I'm sure I read something similar before, but I can't remember. Seems to me there is a wire that has a habit of breaking off. I hope someone with more info for you can chime in here. I'd start my search at the starter though if it was me. Have you checked your fuses?
Sorry I'm not much help...

Yep it is definately in neutral. It has a neutral light that is lit. I did manage to start it one time last year when it was in gear, having the clutch pulled back. Letting it out lit my eyes up - that's for sure. One lesson I learned.
Without crank it has to be somewhere between the stop/run switch and the start button and the starter. I would think it is a relay that you trigger when you push the start button which actually triggers the starter. I would pull and reseat all of the relays under your seat and possibly swap around the similar ones to test them. I suspect either a bad relay or a dirty one.

I had that happen to me and it turned out to be one of the grounding screws under the seat, just in front of the battery, had loosened up. I tightened it up and I was good to go. Start with the easy stuff and make sure your battery connections are all tight.
Thanks guys for all the helpful input.
Here's what I learned... The security system kills the start function and requires the fob to be active. I changed out the watch battery in the fob and it started perfectly. Only cost me $1.99 for the watch battery, and a week of frustration.
I appreciate everyone's help.
