Default Big shot staggards

Stupid question,installed bss staggards on my fatboy,noticed swingarm has exhaust soot on it,the heatshields dont cover the pipes all the way,there is a little gap,i dont think it should be this way,should i loosen up the shields and slide them forward to cover the gap?

where is the gap at?

which pipes are they the black or chrome? (different caps)
