I have a 2011 Fatboy Lo that I want to get new bars for. My question is how does anyone decide what rise, pullback, etc. is comfortable for them without having sat on a bike with the exact same bars to test? I did sit on a used bike at the dealer with the street slammers on and it felt ok. I know those are popular on the Lo. I am curious about the wild1 baby apes or mini apes. I only have 500 miles on the bike and the stock do not seem too uncomfortable, but not crazy about the looks. Thanks for reading.

 

Use the search function here for something like handlebar fitments. Lots of threads on here about this.

 

Some dealers have a mock-up "bike" that be adjusted to simulate your bike, and then they put various bars on to try. Some, few, very few.

 

You can use the broomstick method or mock up some bars out of PVC tubing. I would just head to my local biker hang Sunday morning and ask people if I can sit on their bikes.

Go to a bike show and see what you like. I never thought I'd like apes until the International Motorcycle show in Chicago. I sat on a bike with 14" apes and I loved it....now I have 14" apes!
