Default Rocker box question

I picked up some new rocker box "covers" only form a fellow member .

Before I tackle this I want to make sure I have it down .

REMEMBER THIS IS JUST THE COVERS .

So reading and searching am I correct in assuming by just replacing the covers its basically remove bolts take off and put on . New gasket most likely.

I have read some guys have to deal with push rods ect ... but isint that if you are replacing more than just the cover ?

Thanks in advance fellas

Just the covers no need to mess with the pushrods. If you were pulling the heads you would need to deal with that. New Gaskets for peace of mind.

Both Evo and Twin cam rocker boxes are multiple piece, and to replace the entire cover you have to remove the rocker arms...so yea you have to mess with the push rods. Here is a picture "how to" for a twin cam...Evo is similar.

Just a quick hint...make sure the old loctite and other crap is out of the holes before reassembly, or you may get bad torque readings.

I took the time to chase the threads and sucked the debris out with a choked-down shop vac, but that's me.

Yes to the new gaskets and butterfly valves. No need to skimp, they don't cost that much.

Swapping out rocker boxes is easy.
