ok so sounds like i want teh 2 - 1 .. thats good bec i like them a little better (just the longshots i like from 2 -2 ) .... so next question i have is does anyone have the peace makers or jekyll and hyde pipes ? i like the ability to go quiet rollin through the neighborhood ... but have no idea how i would tune them .... if not what is the best all around 2 -1 pipe
ok so 2 -1 has more low end torq and 2 - 2 is for speed?
Nope. A good 2 into one will not only give you better numbers, which really don't always equate into usable power, it will give good performance at higher rpm. A two into two system might yield slightly better numbers for peak horsepower. Then again it might not. The 2 into 1 will scavange the exhaust out of the cylinder better throughout the bikes usable rpm range. It will give you more torque at lower rpms and continue to produce a lot of torque up to redline. The 2 into 1 will give you a lot better throttle response than duals. If the duals did provide more top end horsepower it won't matter. Even in a drag race the motor isn't running at max rpm all the time. The increased power in the mid range will have you way ahead of the same bike with duals. He might start to catch up just before shifting, but when he does you are out powering him again. Check out the full out drag racer V Rod that Harley sells It comes with a 2 into 1.
2-1 for best all around performance is what I've always heard but I just hate the looks of them. I have 2-2's on both my bikes and am willing to live with any performance sacrifice for the looks.
