I called E. C. Harley and asked that Metzler 160's be put on my 2004 Fatboy FLSTF. I was told 160's are too big because once they heat up, it'll rub against the belt. Can anyone tell me if this is true or not before i order the wrong tires?

The 160 is designed to be the widest tire to fit without any physical changes to the bike. However, for a trouble free ride with the 160 everything in the universe must be in perfect alignment...

Runnin a Dunlop Roadsmart 160 which is wider then the Metz. Using a 4.25" rim. Fender has to be centered and strut bolt was shortened. Is your rim 3" ? imo - runnin a 160 on a 3" rim does not make sense. 3.5-4.5 is recommended. A 160 does look good.
So, do they make a 150/18 tire? Maybe a dumb question but who cares Im askin it. Then reason Im askin, Im wantin to run a 18x4.25 on the back of my Deluxe, and I dont want to rub. SO, do they make a 150/18? SOrry for the Hi-Jack
I'm running a 160 Metz on the rear on a 18x4.25 rim on my '05 and it's tight and yes it needs to center perfect within the fender. but I clear the belt easy without any problems.
Story, you da man. But I still would like to know if they make a 150/18, just in case I cant get the 160/60/18 to fit. I think I will call some tire places and see if a 150 is even available. Scratch that, I just looked and Metz, Avon, and vee offer a 150/18. Now only Vee has that in a WW. Wait, I cant remember if the 150 is the tallness or if its the width of the tire.
