I used to own a Honda Aero 750 when they first came out. I did everything I could to make it look similar to a Deluxe. Lowered it, 16" apes, long straight pipes, chrome, etc, etc. I sold it a few years ago and until recently didn't own a bike at all.
The Deluxe has always been my fav and I had said for YEARS and years that if I ever bought a HD, it would be a Deluxe. After all, that's what I had wanted to begin with. So no, NO regrets here at all and no way that I ever will...I own my dream bike. As cheesy as that sounds...it's the truth!
Here is a pic of my Honda - it was a pretty rad little bike. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of it anymore. The thing ran like a raped ape - I could break the rear tire loose through first and chirp the hell out of 2nd! Not bad for a little 750! I had stage III carb, straight shotgun pipes, custom intake, lowered 2.5", custom forward controls, custom paint, internally wired apes - this pic is before it was complete, unfortunately. I did everything myself and chopped it old-school with a cutting torch. None of the tools or kits existed for it at the time so I had to make my own spring compressors to get the bell housing apart and figure it all out for myself. I took the forks apart and lowered that with spacers I made from PVC. It was in pieces in my garage for the first few months I owned it. It was a fun little project...

I have second guessed myself when I first got the Lo cause i was tossing around it and the streetglide but then every time I look at the Lo I know I made the right choice.
I love most all Harleys, but the Softail Customs with an EVO have always been my favorite, My 99 is just to much fun to ride. I may be 71 years old, but this bike for me beats all the others hands down.
None. I love my dyna. I rode metrics until I could afford my Harley. Now I am looking to add to the stable. A 1200 sportster is what I am leaning towards. My dyna is a great all around bike but the sportster would make a fantastic city tripper. Let's ride
About a year after I bought my '04 Fatboy new, the Deluxe came out - The Deluxe is the bike I wanted. I've since turned my bike into a Fatboy Deluxe - & just recently put on the heritage front fender w/Deluxe emblems...
