Default sissy bar luggage rack help

So as of tomorrow I will be the proud new owner of a heritage softail. I am pumped!! I am thinking that wehn I ride solo I will want to take off the passengers seat and the sissy bar and luggage rack. how much trouble would it be to take the current sissy bar and rack off? Also anybody know if it would be better to buy the detachable set and how much it would cost?

I have a 03 Heritage, thank for posting I want to see what answers you get to this post. My passenger seat is attached I think to my rider seat and my sissy bar comes off after I remove my bags.
Never priced a detachable set so hopefully we will both learn from this post. Enjoy your new Ride, hope you have a great weekend to enjoy riding.
Post some photos of your new FLSTCI

Its easy enough. I have the quick detach side plates from HD, that way you can pop it on/off really easily.

I have a Motherwell rack on the back:

If you don't have the quick detach side plates, it can get to be a pain. I pop mine on and off all the time but there's not much room between the tire and the inside of the fender to be messing around with nuts and bolts. Harley wants around $170 for their detachables but JP has them for $70. Problem is they've been out of stock for a couple months now. Either that or they're brand new and they haven't started shipping. I'm still waiting on my order.

When I had a softail (Heritage) I had a quick detach backrest and rack. It worked out great with a bag. Had a Leatherman that held loads of stuff.

Well SC how many miles you got on that new Heritage now? You get some riding in Yesterday. The Engines smooth isn't it!! I love the balanced smooth engine of the softails
