Default Fuel Tank Help!!!

Hey guys. I need some help with a gas tank problem. And yes I did use the search function first, but none of the threads hit this topic...

I have a 2006 FXSTS/I and I'm trying to find another tank for custom paint because I'd like to hang my original stuff on the wall just in case.

The problem that I'm running in to is on the bottom of my '06 tank I only have 1 bung for the injection, but on all of the tanks I find they are being advertised to fit '00 to '07 injected and '04 to '06 carb bikes but they have 2 bungs on the bottom. Whats the deal?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

P.S.
Does anyone have a single bung tank for sale?

ummm..... as far as i know they are all only 1 bung, they only run 1 fuel line. unless you're looking at the fuel cross over tubes at the front of the tank?

I agree. My 08 Rocker had only one on the stock tank. The only other thing I can think that you're seeing is the top holes? Mine has one for the fuel gauge and one filling up the fuel.

Maybe you can link the tanks you're looking at?

Come on guys, I'm dumb, but I'm not stupid.... HAHAHAHA

Here are some pics of the dual bung I'm talking about....

And here is what the bottom of my single bung tank looks like...

I'm wondering if I can just plug one? So... any opinions?

Wow, I've never noticed anything like that before. i just went out and looked in the garage. My wife 03 deuce has a Harley paint set on it, it has the double bung. The original tank from hers also has the double. My 07 deuce has the single bung. They are both efi. i can't believe I've never noticed that. I wish i could be more help but i'm a little lost myself right now haha

You actually may be some help...

On both of the double bung tanks, are both holes being used? Or is one plugged off?

Thanks,
Mike
