Well it has been a bit but I have done a few cool things to my 97 I picked up back in March. First of all I had my carb rebuilt by Dale Sanders at Killer MC products. What a quality job he does. His attention to detail is amazing and the bike runs flawlessly. I also installed an EV27 cam and of course a torrington bearing. That combined with the carb and this thing is really alive. And the last thing was a dry BDL primary. I ran a set up like this years ago and loved it. I am different so I like running them with no inspection or derby covers. Allows it to breath and stay cool plus I like the sound. My plan is to get an extra opening in the front to get some better ventilation. Below are some pics of the primary and the carb (note the polishing in the carb). This bike now rides like a whole new machine.
In case you were wondering I have been fighting a battle with a bad stator plug leak and I suspected that either my outer or inner primary was warped due to a leak there. AND I had a bad clunk from my factory clutch basket. So the money I would have spent fixing all that stuff was about the same as this set up.
