i'm know this has been on here before but i can't find it. i'm thinking about replacing my 03 night trains rear wheel with a wheel off of a deuce. i know that the deuces wheel is wider (160 and my night trains is a 150) so i'm wondering if i were to do this what all would i have to change?? and what do you think it would cost me for all the peices?? and would i have any clearance issues??
a deuce rim will take a 170 tyre, there 4.5" wide, it can be done, i put a 5.5"x 18 on my deuce, you cannot do that without cutting frame horns and new fender!
a deuce rim should work on your bike with a 160 tyre on it,wider and it will rub on your fender
i think the only thing you will need will be a drive side narrower axle spacer, i went from 4.5" to 5.5" and had my spacer machined down to fit, dealer sells different widths to as does drag specialties!
get the wheel, put pulley and rotor on,check clearances etc, should work ok

you're saying to fit the 18x5.5 you would need to do those mods on the night train correct? my wifes deuce has the 18x5.5 with a 180 tire on it. she has a chrome wide tire swing arm but that's the only mods i can see. it is super tight though. if the wheel isn't perfectly straight it will rub on the belt. had me worried as i replaced the dunlop with a metzler and wouldn't clear till everything lined up haha

Kiwi musta been talking bout doing those mods for an 18x5.5 to fit a train. My deuce rear end is mod free with a 18x5.5 wrapped in a metz 180mm...

sorry didnt make it so clear!!rear fender change and frame horns cut to get a 18x5.5 on a NT
no probs on a deuce for 18x5.5 with 180 ,you can go 200 with the narrower belt and pulley!
the train will take the deuce rim of 4.5 if you dont go to a wide tyre, the guard cant take it! a deuce rim can take a 170,i think 160 max for train!
probably just need narrower drive side axle spacer and should be fine, not hard,i did mine myself and im no rocket scientist!! lol
