Default Need help determining value

Hey everyone! I'm toying with the idea of letting go of my 2004 Softail. My problem is I don't know how to value this thing and was hoping some of you may be of some help. Both NADA and KBB has it valued at roughly $10K in excellent STOCK condition. But as you can see it has a little bit of work done. It is the carb model and runs like it's brand new. Absolutely no problems with this baby. List of mods and pictures are below. Thanks everyone and God Bless!!!

- 2004 FXSTB Night Train
- Mileage: 37,915
- 96" Screamin' Eagle Upgrade
- Screamin' Eagle Coil with Ignition Module
- Vance and Hines Big Radius 2 into 2 Exhaust
- Custom Front and Rear Fenders
- Stretched Gas Tank with Popup Lid
- Lowered (But still very rideable)
- Fully matching Chrome Horse Front/Rear Wheels, Rotors and Pulley
- Avon Venom-X 90/90 - 21" Front Tire
- Avon Cobra AV72 200/55 R18 Rear Tire
- Paint speaks for itself
- Relocated Horn to Under Seat
- Relocated Ignition Module to Horn Location

You may not want to hear this, but the custom paint (which looks very well done btw) may well detract from the value depending on the buyer.

I have made customizations to my ride knowing full well that this may be the case.

all that = $0

The value of the bike is what KBB is all your mods are just that your mods and hold no real value at trade in and not much but a negotiating point for sale.

Sorry but its the way it is. When I traded in my Deuce they told me the value was the same stock or with my upgrades (pipes wheels and a bunch of chrome) so I pulled everything off and sold the stuff mysef

Yup, and recent service don't count for much either. I sold my Sportster to a dealer a few weeks after about $750 worth of service. I gave them the service receipt. They said they would have paid me the same amount regardless of whether I did the service or not.

+1... What most folks don't understand is that what is cool to them is probably not so for most folks. Or at least not in the sense that they want to own the same thing. "Custom" paint jobs are probably the worst case of this in my opinion. They are a mod that is usually quite expensive and are usually too personal in taste and so they don't appeal to as many folks as something stock might.

This is where guys like me make out big time. Most people quickly realize when they go to sell/trade their scoots that they are better off taking off any aftermarket stuff and selling it themselves because they will not get squat for it if left on the bike. It's this fact of Harleys that allow someone like me to do mods to my scoot in a more affordable manner by snatching up good deals on used stuff.

You would better off selling it. It's a beautiful bike someone will give you more then trade in value. What do you think the dealer is going to do, sell it for more then he gave you.

I appreciate the comments. Looks like I need to shop this puppy around at the local meet and greets and see if there is anyone willing to make an offer. Thanks!!

Don't listen to the dealer, they are going to try to get the bike for as little as possible. ANd when they turn around and flog it I'm sure they will be using the mods as selling features. Snakes I tells ya!

I would love to have the tins and wheels off your bike. I think the paint is really nice...
The down side is is a person is looking to finance the bike they lenders will only loan book on it.
Really nice looking bike though. Well put together.
