Recently changed out the rear tire on my 1996 Road King. When I removed the right side frame cover to get to the rear brake caliper I discovered a small black box with a Screamin" Eagle decal on it. On further inspection I found what looks like a part number and some other numbers:
32630-96
PSE
6000 RPM
0519
REV-
Anyone know what this is?? I'm assuming it is some type of ignition system enhancement, but do not know for sure. I bought the bike used earlier this year. Also, the bike is carbureted.
RE: Need help in identifying a Screamin Eagle part
That is the SE ignition module. These modules increase the rev limit of the stock module while maintaining the low and mid range precision of original equipment ignition curves.
RE: Need help in identifying a Screamin Eagle part
Thanks very much. So this really does nothing but allow the engine to turn more rpm. No additional spark or timing. Bummer.
I was considering going to an aftermarket single-fire type ignition for an over-the-winter project and was hoping this was something of that sort. No such luck.
