Default Rear Brake Dragging

New to the site, anyway I did the 1K dealer service on my 2011 Deluxe as was suggeted from other threads on the forum, and the service advisor told me the rear brake pads were installed wrong from the factory and that they were now replacing them. I thought, cool, a dealer who knows what they're doing. Afterwards, I start moving the bike around in my garage and I hear this dragging coming from the rear wheel. Experience from my cars with a similar situation tells me this rotor is gonna get hot. I rode it and braked without using the rear brake and when done it was hot. I brought the bike to the dealer and told what was what and he took it for a ride and said he heard nothing and that there was no slowing down of the bike from the brake. He also said that because the pads are metallic there will be a ginding sound. Eventually the guy said the brakes will wear down and the noise will stop. Is this BS or what? Its funny the front brake never did this.

BS that semi-metallic pads will produce a grinding sound. But your pads might need to break in first before you know there is a problem. Once broken in (doesn't take long), your rotors should stay cool when you aren't using the brakes.

My Road King developed a sticking rear brake on my last trip. Will be rebuilding it, since it is 9 years old.

Thanks for the info. Will give it a short time to break then see where it's at. I gotta believe that a hot rotor will warp and eventually screw up the caliper and bearings.
