a buddy of mine has a whitewall on the front of his electra glide..but he hadn't maintained it and it became rather brown and nasty..after trying to clean it, he took the ink stick out of a sharpe, cut the plastic away, and painted over them and made them black.. sure it stands out, but doesn't look nearly as bad as an unmaintained white wall
Wife has them on her Deluxe. They take me NO TIME to clean. Easy solution, get better brake pads. Lyndell makes thier gold and Z pads that generate NO brake dust. No dust, CLEAN whitealls Problem solved.
Well worth the 58 bucks per set in myu opinion.
If I do anything, I use a magic eraser on them, take no more time than a rag or brush would.
I use "Scrubbing Bubbles Foaming Bathroom Cleaner" to quickly touch up the wide whitewalls between washes. Put the bike on the lift, spray the sidewalls with the foamy stuff, then wipe them clean with a microfiber towel. Also shines the chrome rims.
Hope you're wearing haz-mat gear(!) My dad (retired boilermaker) used to tell me about how he used benzene, sometimes styrene, to clean tools, boots, etc. Cancer killed him back in 1997.
I was told by a guy who stretches ww that anything with bleach in it eventually dries them out and gives them that dingy look. He said use 409 and it will just wipe clean..... He is right.
I'm curious how you can CLEAN and DETAIL a Harley including WW in 2 hours? .....
Really. It takes an hour just to rinse it off and dry it. Actually scrubbing it down and detailing it takes at least three to four hours, especially if you've ridden in the rain at all since the last detailing.
