ok, hijacking briefly.. This comes back to a few weeks ago when I was asking a bunch of questions about different cams and the Woods 555's or something.. I was talking to my neighbor about it (a machinist) and he was preaching "You won't see the same results unless you get your heads done too".. and although I know how an engine function, I don't know anything about the details..like I didn't know what cams were until i started asking questions.. so my next question..when people say "get your heads done" or "get head work done".. what are they referring to? Like what does it mean? ..also going to google now i guess to study

..to answer my own question, i guess it's to increase the quality and quantity of intake and exhaust.. but like.. what actually goes into doing it?

I'm thinking of having my heads done by Branch. Already have SE 95" kit and Andrews 26g. Wonder if the work will be worthwhile.

The heads from the factory have casting marks in the runners.. A port and polish will smooth out the runners to get the extra power. The casting marks make the air and exhaust tumble in the ports. Which cause friction. By smoothing out the ports your air and exhaust flow smoother without all the friction. Which will increase the amount of air that can flow.

Your 95 tq with stock cams and 95" kit is very good. That is close to what cammed bikes with 95" kits get. So, maybe with your dyno guy it is possible. In other words, not all dyno numbers are created equal.
The cams are 203's.

[quote=DR. V-TWIN;8515139]I'd think you would gain about 10 hp and tq with heads or headwork and the 37. There is a great site with tons of dyno sheets for varying builds but i can't remember what it is right now.

Are you talking about www.nightrider.com ? They have alot of good info on different builds.
