Oh, I know Ted all too well. He spent about 2 months telling me that the frontend was ready but the builder hadn't paid them for it. This obviously caused a strain between me and the builder because I was pissed about it. My builder finally just showed me the receipt from the order which then of course Ted acknowledged it was paid for but now they were waiting on parts. I'm not sure how it goes from "ready to ship" to "waiting for parts". I've been waiting on this frontend for about 3 months now. After reading all this, I'm going to call the builder today and discuss going another option. Obviously it's going to put me even further behind on getting my bike back, but I don't want to end up waiting until Oct to get a frontend that shows up in poor quality. Thanks for the feedback guys.
Sucks because the AS frontend really matched the direction I went with the bike but, I guess I have to make some sacrifices to be able to actually ride the dang thing again.
Had the black mambas on my softail. Absolute crap to start with so we had them rebuilt by a UK expert suspension company.
They took weeks to arrive, when they did parts were missing so waited several more weeks waiting for the missing bits whilst arguing with AS who claimed that the parts were all shipped first time.
We then had fun and games trying to find out why the forks bottomed out on the slightest bump in the road only to be told that they were "fine on American roads"
Never ever again!
Yepppp. This blows. I wish I had known these experiences months ago but such is life. I really do appreciate y'all sharing the horror stories. My builder is actually friends with Vince (the named owner of AS anyhow) so he's going to talk to him directly and try to figure something out, if not my builder actually makes his own springers so I'll just get him to knock one out.
I don't know how AS can stay in business with the crap they send out. I'll tell you what really pisses me off is Ted's B.S. after I complained about their product and all the added work I've had to do, Ted calls me a **** talking punk and to come over and tell it to his face and then calls me a **** bitch.
