Default Maybe a new deluxe in our future

So while at the dealership today the wife and I started working numbers on a 2011 deluxe (black and white) MSRP about 17.5 and with the deal we worked down we got it down to 15.5 plus tax and tag with all their fees in it.

Now the blk and white is nice but the wife really likes the 2010 white ice / black ice combo so we start looking online and I found one brand new at a dealership

OMG a brand new 2010 r u kidding me???

So I call thinking it's a mistake and that someone just forgot to remove it from the website and that it's long gone by now. NOPE! It's still there 0 miles on it and sitting in their show room

So I ask the sales guy on the phone hey what kind of price can I get on that 2010 since the 2012's are out this month and he tells me.............get this........

Wait for it..............

That bike is 18.3 MSRP and we don't discount them

Are you fng kidding me?

I was on the phone and said back, yeah I know what MSRP is but this is an 2010 not a 2012 and I was just working a deal on a newer 2011 brand new and had the price at 15.5 plus tax and tag and this thing is almost 2 years old already do you want to sell it or clean it every week in your showroom? I mean I know it's a nice paint combo but damn it already you've been looking at it for two years you schmuck!

So I emailed the sales manager that had his direct email address on the website when we got home and he called me about 10 mins later and said he will talk to the owner to see what they can do.

My final comment to him was basically look do you guys want to move a unit or what?

Now you know why its still sitting on the showroom floor. The white ice pearl and black ice pearl is an incredible color though. You really have to see it in person to truly appreciate it.I may be biased on the color though.

Obviously he is not too interested in "moving the unit", obviously he also is not willing to deal in good faith. If I were him, I would sell it at my cost just to get rid of it, it's a 2010 for God's sake. I can't believe these idiot sales people.

That is pretty crazy. Not surprised why that 2010 is still siting there they aren't willing to make a deal.

We will keep you guys posted for sure

And we did see the color combo in person on a Used RK at the dealership that's what got her hooked on it so now my job is to try and make wifey happy and deliver one

Now in all fairness my local dealer said he will try to locate one still in FL but I don't think there are many around any longer so we will continue to try with this out of state yahoo and see if the manager wants to move it or not

so I spoke to the sales manager again yesterday

he cannot approve the price offer I made so he asked the GSM (general sales manager) and he cannot approve that price either so they were waiting on the owner to come in today and see if he will take the offer and move the unit.

now mind you, I got that price on a 2011 deluxe, so I KNOW they can do that price on the 2010 deluxe. Both bikes are two tone and have no extra options like ABS or security so I know they price offer is good, it just may be less then what they normally would make.

again this is on a brand new 2010 - the 2012's are already at the dealership and they now come with the 103 std

OMG what does it take to run a business these days?

I was in the car business and if you got a real offer that you were making money on and could move a unit, you did it, sure you tried to bump the offer, but not on something that was 2 years old in model year and especially when the newer version had a price bump and offers more for the money

I just don't get it......

well if they do come back with a yes, I need to show up in person to make the deal and that will add air fair and shipping charges back for the bike to the deal so I am not keen on going up on my price, but I can always play let's make a deal

I can't figure out why they won't discount the bike. It cost the dealership money to have the bike sitting on the floor. They pay the MOCO everyday the bike sits on the salesfloor. And two model years old...wow. I'd buy the 2011if I were you.
