Samson does have different exhaust tips for the crossover which are not fishtails. Since we set a trend 4 years ago with the 39" Cholo's it was just a matter of time for someone to make their own longer tips. we now have straight cut tips and angle cut as well. Don't sell us short, we are ahead of the curve on style and it shows with over 577 different part numbers, so far. we continue to R&D pipes all year. the best way to find out what is new is to continue to check our website in the whats new area. most other exhaust manufacturers don't even come close to the variety we offer. we will not be making 48" extensions but they must be cool.
thank you,
JR
Yes, I'll put them on. I already know they are going to look insane and sound insane. The main question is looks vs. performance. I don't even want to think about this right now. I'm going on vacation in the morning. 1000 mile weekend! WooHoo!
Anyone who knows me knows I can't just leave things as they are. Maybe find a way to put the fatcat on the sportster. Hmmmm....
Machine a/c and some new 13.5" progressive shocks. All it needs now is some power for serious canyon carving.
I've had it with Samson! I'm seriously thinking about filing suit, filing a complaint with the AG's office.
I'm also thinking about designing and building my own style cholo's.
Move over Samson, it's time for you to go!
I'm not sure what kind of issues you are having (I've read the posts but haven't seen any photos), but I think that Samson will probably take care of you. I just received my 36" cholos (in 9 days start to finish, BTW), and they were in perfect condition. I think they improved their process for removable baffles as well. I remember withe my previous 33" removable baffles I nearly needed a slide hammer to remove them. With these - they were snug but I was able to wiggle them out.
I'd say send Samson some photos - or maybe even send the system back for either a refund or for a replacement set. Seems like this issue has been plaguing you for a while, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't be willing to work with you (they treated me excellent).
How are they new and different and how do they make them so that they will sit lower? As for scraping? I'm going out west this summer on a 4 state ride ending up at Sturgis. I will be doing allot of canyon carving and as an old timer once told me long ago, if you ain't scrapping you ain't riding it right? My tips are razor sharp from scrapping but that's just how I roll.
