Smile periodic starting problem

Hello all.

Yesterday I had rode all morning without a hitch, got home and the bike sat for 5 hrs or so.

I wnt to go out again and it started for a split second and then shut down. After that I had no response, the moter turned and turned but nothing. I believe it to be no spark so I seached high and low for a bad ground wire some where but could come up with nothing.

I pushed it into the garage pissed off and just for the hell of it i tried to start it again................................Started right up!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? the bike is a 96' FXSTS never had any problems ever with this bike and i have had it for 8 yrs and its always beed kept up proffesionally

Thank you

Knowing and believing are two different things. NEVER assume, always check so that you are not chasing ghost problems. However if no spark I would first look at switches (key and or handle bar) if problem happens again you can try and cycle the switches a few to many times.
Good luck intermitting problems can be VERY fustrating.
