First post on the forums although I've been getting plenty of good ideas from everyone for the past couple months when I purchased my rocker in may. I'm planning on ordering some apes from br here in the next couple weeks. So my first question is does anyone know what the stock cable lengths are on a 2010 fxcwc? I'm planning on internal throttle and external clutch and brake cables. I still have yet to get a hand in measuring for height, width, and pull back and I know br requests stock lengths when ordering. So if anyone has the information so I can just do a whole package order from him I'd appreciate it.
First, welcome to the forum! Regarding cable lengths, if you look at the handlebar section of the HD parts catalog, there's a table near the beginning of that section that list what the cable lengths are. I think the stock lengths are listed as well as what you need for the custom bars.
Thanks av8or. I do have a question about the streamline internal throttle and i know there are a few here running them. What is the outer diameter on the grip side? Or the grip inside diameter? Im wanting to put matching grips and pegs on preferably these http://www.hammercustomcycles.com/Vi...hFtpgsTpgsGrps
Make sure U think Ur mods through before buying..
Solid smoothe metal grips and pegs, while maybe looking cool, will be cold on the hands in chilly weather and the pegs will make for poor/slick footing. just saying.
I don't think those smooth pegs or grips are going to be very practical on any type of lengthy rides.
Bill makes the grip section on the bars the same diameter as the stock HD bars.
Both the pegs and grips will fit.
I'm not sure how the internal throttle locks to the grip though so it will operate when twisted?
According to everything ive read the grips attach with set screws which involves drilling and tapping them i just want to know if the streamline has a greater o.d. Than factory
Edit: i had smooth grips and pegs on my 04 sporty and loved them, i never had a problem with my feet sliding off with forward controls and yes the grips do get cold but they all do. Bars will be 3" risers 1 1/4 bars 19" tall 30" wide pullback unknown still
I also believe dragon used 1 1/8 i.d. grips with his streamline
The throttle grip is a larger inside diameter than the clutch side and if they don't recommend a special grip for the Streamline, I'd say any grip made for a HD should work.
You could always try emailing tech support at Streamline about fitment.
