Default Replace or reuse?

I have my forks apart and was wondering about the little copper washers that seal the drain plugs. Do you guys replace those everytime or can they be reused?

If it's copper, it's a crush washer. They are cheap enough, I'd replace it.

They will leak if you reuse them. Don't ask me how I know.

Crap, that is what I suspected. I picked up fork oil from the dealer and forgot those. I was hoping I wouldn't have to go back! Better safe than sorry.

They are cheap enough, but I too forgot some last time and the dealer is too far away to run down there. I reused mine without problems. If they can still crush then they are ok. On my last bike I used a couple crush washers from the hardware store

I would recommend replacing them, but same issue here, couldn't get 'em.

So I wrapped the little screws in a layer of Teflon tape for some added protection and reused the copper crushers - no problems.

When it comes to small, cheap items like washers and o rings I use new. Just to cheap to take a chance and have to replace new oil.
