man thats obsurd, i hate dealer prices, wantedto charge 40 bucks just to snap on smoked turnsignal visors and 50 bucks to put on the front axel nut covers while my bike is there gettin repairs from a wreck, i told em to just gimmie the parts in the packaging.
but as far as your bars go, i dont think it would even take 10 hours for someone who has never touched a wrench. take your time and have a fun night of doin it with a buddy and have a few beers, you will have a hell of alot more fun, and be glad you saved that much money. on top of it all you will feel good everytime you look at em knowing that you did it.
10 hours if you only have 1 arm, and a plastic pickel in your butt. Just do it your self just buy a kit and its cake to do. I spent 4 1/2 hrs and a case it was good times.
I just put the street slammers on this past winter, and running the wire does take time but go slow and use common sense it will work out. Now I'm changing to a set of Carlini's that should be here at the end of the week. so it will start again. So much fun working on your sled
Just had touring bars installed on my deluxe with black diamond cables and an oil change total labor charge 4 hrs $785 included parts labor and synthetic oil.
Hell if you buy bars with internal wiring and controls you are already at $600+ then add cables and brake fluids + labor. I would say that was close to right on depending on the type of bars.
