Default Exhaust Question

my buddy just bought a 2012 Heritage Softail with the 103 motor , he is looking to change the exhaust , what is a good exhaust on the Heritage , should he do the stage 1 with it and does he need a tuner , I had the 1st year Heritage in 86 and I liked longer pipes to go under the bags , what's the current thoughts , THANKS

What's your buddy's thoughts; sound, performance, looks? A 2-1 would really wake up that 103, and they're several styles that offer long versions for the Heritage. True duals would be saw-weet also.

I just went through this and the info I'm getting is there are no after market exhaust for this bike as of now. Just hung up with Rinehart and they confirmed that their research and development team is working on this as we speak. Hope something comes out soon but we all know how long this could take.

For his '12 there are few if any choices for exhaust systems as of today. Most 3rd party don't even have slip-ons for Softails yet.

Yes at his 1K service get the Stage1 Air cleaner, if your dealer has them.

Yes he will want a tuner eventually.

Current thought are still the same, get what looks and sounds good to you. Although 2:1's perform better IMHO.
